Announcements

Parents: Have you registered for ActiveParent?

You can also support Madison Central by purchasing Kroger shopping cards below. If you use these cards to purchase your groceries at Kroger, MCHS will receive 5% of the total you spend on groceries.

Mac’s Fresh Market Foods at School Street on Hwy 51 has begun a community Partners Program. Each time you shop there, you will be given one stamp for every $5 you spend. These stamps can be affixed to Madison Central’s card, which will be kept at Mac’s. Once the card is filled with stamps Mac’s will issue MC a check. Your participation in this program will help us buy needed equipment and supplies for our classroom. Thanks for your support.

All students who park on campus MUST purchase a decal! The cost is now $10. You may purchase one on “A” days at break in the commons. If you are parked on campus without a decal, you are in violation and will receive an office referral.

As a safety precaution, every morning once you arrive on campus, you must exit your vehicles and walk to the building. No one is allowed to remain in the parking lot.

Is that English paper killing you? Do those Math problems make you feel like you are going to faint? Don’t worry, all you need is one of our certified E.M.T.’s (English Math Tutors). Stop by Wednesday morning in Mrs. Findley’s room( #214) to receive help from one of our tutors.

Madison Central is beginning a new program, EcoTech, to increase student awareness of ecological issues while integrating up-to-date technology into the classrooms. To promote the program and raise funds for its support, we will be selling EcoTech t-shirts for $15 every Wednesday and Thursday in the cafetorium during lunch.

Want to Dive the Great Barrier Reef? Hold a Koala? Play with Wallabies and Kangaroos? Travel to Australia with Mr. Hackman in the Summer of 2009. See all of this and more!!! 18 days down under! See Mr. Hackman for more details.

Need a caffeine jolt in the morning to get you started? The Academic Team is selling coffee products every morning in front of the school for just a $1. Come after 8 in the morning in April and May for your coffee and favorite flavoring.

The yearbook staff has extra t-shirts from who’s who and beauty and beau. Each shirt is $10. See Mrs. Callum if you would like to purchase one.

If you are interested in prom pictures taken by Mrs. Shivers, they are loaded onto the library’s computer. You may download or print from there, just ask the Librarians for help.

Sub-Deb pictures are in the front office. Please come by at lunch or break to pick up your pictures.

The Madison Career and Technical Center Students are having a "Playhouse" raffle. The playhouse was built by the Construction Technology students at the center as a fundraiser for their club, SkillsUSA. Character Trait of the Week

This week we are studying the character trait of perseverance.

The definition of perseverance is:

to continue doing something in spite of obstacles or opposition.

It is important to teach our young people to keep trying and keep focused on their goals, even when the going gets rough. Nothing can take the place of persistence.
